Sports Shooting Complex

Funding was made available in 2003 to with a grant from the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks, in cooperation with the City of Horton and substantial help from the Army National Guard to provide a safe shooting range for the public. Providing handicap facilities such as paved sidewalks, ramps and restrooms, the Complex is suited for anyone desiring to practice their shooting skills and abilities.

The shooting range is open from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on the first and third Sundays of each month. The fee is $3.00 per day, per person. The fee is waived for youth organizations. Anyone interested in shooting by appointment will need to contact the Horton Police Department at 785-486-2694. A Range Safety Officer will need to be present, as required to ensure all rules are closely adhered to the regulations. Specific guidelines for use have been established by Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks. Anyone under 18 years of age must be accompanied by parent or guardian.
