LOOKING FOR DISPATCHERS UNTIL ALL POSITIONS FILLED

The City of Horton operates a full-time Police and Communications Department for the City of Horton. There are 4 full-time police officers and 4 part-time. The city operates a 24-hour dispatch center. They dispatch for the Horton area, the neighboring Kickapoo Tribe, and are also a backup for Brown County. The dispatchers are tasked with processing incoming police, fire, and EMS related 911 calls, and dispatch police, fire, EMS and other emergency units and personnel as needed according to established procedures. They monitor and operate emergency signaling, radio, computer, telephone, alarm, and other specialized equipment in support of public safety communications and dispatch functions.
