CDBG Housing Application
The City of Horton will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 5:15 PM in the Horton City Hall at 205 East 8th Street, Horton, KS 66439, to consider an application to be submitted to the Kansas Department of Commerce for Small Cities Community Development Block Grant funds under the Housing Rehabilitation Category.
The specific project application to be discussed is a housing rehabilitation program within the city limits of Horton that will include rehabilitation of approximately 20 homes. Specific project activities will be city-wide roof rehabilitation and replacement, housing quality inspections, lead-based paint activities, environmental assessments, and program administration. The estimated total project cost is $321,250, with the grant request for $300,000 of the project cost.
