CDBG Housing Application
The City of Horton will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 5:15 PM in the Horton City Hall at 205 East 8th Street, Horton, KS 66439, to consider an application to be submitted to the Kansas Department of Commerce for Small Cities Community Development Block Grant funds under the Housing Rehabilitation Category.
A specific project application to be discussed is a housing rehabilitation program in an area bounded by the city limits of Horton that will consist of housing rehabilitation to approximately 10 homes. Specific project activities will include housing rehabilitation, housing quality inspection, lead-based paint activities, environmental assessment, and administration. The estimated total project cost is $305,250, with the grant request for $300,000 of the project cost.
Other project proposals introduced at the hearing will be considered. Oral and written comments will be recorded and become a part of the City of Horton CDBG Citizen Participation Plan. Reasonable accommodations will be made available to persons with disabilities. Requests should be submitted to the City Clerk by Friday, February 13, 2026.
